Frieda is a very thorough alpaca fleece skirter. She is maticulous and relentless when it comes to producing the ideal fleece to be presented to a fleece judge. Frieda's fleece skirting qualifications include:

* Assisting fleece judges at alpaca shows
- Frieda has worked with multiple fleece judges to learn just what they are looking for in an award winning fleece.

* Years of study
- Frieda has been reviewing fleeces at numerous alpaca shows since 2002.

* Loads of ribbons
- Frieda's own alpacas have won numerous Color Champion, Blue and Red ribbons for fleece at alpaca shows. Some of the awards were clearly due to her skirting skills as the judges notes have shown.

How it works:.

* Skirting - your show fleece will be professionally skirted and boxed in preparation for competition.

* Assessment - Frieda and her crew will assess your fleece and provide you with written details of its characteristics, plusses and minuses, etc. You will receive an honest assessment of the fleece.

* Submission - 1st Choice Skirting can mail your fleeces directly to the shows you request. The fleeces will be sent with return postage paid for easy return to you, us or possibly the next show.

Prices:
$35 per fleece - price can be higher for highly contaminated fleece.
Fleeces deemed not eligible for competition will be returned.

Extras:
$10 fee (+ actual postage) per show to submit your prepared fleece for you to a competition. Includes paperwork and communication with the show as needed.

Rush orders are welcome. A rush fee will be charged for last minute quick work. This generally applies to skirting needing done within 1-2 weeks, depending upon the show season.

Notes:
* Charges are higher for fleeces which require extensive skirting

* Frieda will give you an assessment of your fleece

* Please allow 1 month for skirting to be completed

* "Rush" jobs can be accomodated for an additional fee

* 1st Choice Alpacas farm clients get 1st "picks" on the skirting service

* Fees must be paid prior to fleeces being returned or sent to shows. We accept check, Visa/MC/AMEX/DISC, PayPal.

* Fleeces are accepted from any U.S. mailing address.

* Please do not bag your fleeces while wet. A breathable bag such as an old towel or pillow case is best.

* Please send fleeces by U.S. Priority Mail with delivery confirmation. We will ship back to you in this manner.

* Frieda occasionally offers fun "Tea-n-pickins" fleece skirting classes in the Seatte / Portland area. She's willing to travel to other areas for farms who sponsor these educational skirting seminars.
